Working as part of its national team of 75 staff with 15,000 members and hundreds of professional volunteers, Damian spent nearly ten years constantly improving the business during a time where it was returning from the brink of financial disaster. In the last four years, he held the role of Deputy CEO, Company Secretary and was accountable for HR, Marketing, IT, finance and corporate governance. These years were the most profitable years for the APA in over a decade.
Damian Mitsch completed postgraduate study in aged services management in 1997 and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at La Trobe University in 1999. He undertook six years of doctoral work but chose to defer this before becoming a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). In 2011 he completed an intensive Senior Leadership Program at Melbourne Business School, Mt Eliza.
